Cuộc thi nhằm mục đích tuyên truyền về vai trò, giá trị của kỹ năng lao động trong đời sống kinh tế xã hội và hội nhập quốc tế; tuyên truyền sâu rộng về Ngày Kỹ năng lao động Việt Nam - 4/10
Mỗi năm thế giới sẽ mất đi 5.000 - 6.000 tỉ USD nếu các quốc gia không chú trọng phát triển người lao động có kỹ năng, còn nếu làm tốt việc đào tạo người lao động có thể góp phần tăng GDP từ 0,5 đến 2%. Đó là lý do mà thế giới coi kỹ năng lao động là đơn vị tiền tệ mới. Do đó, Tổng cục nhận thấy sớm đẩy mạnh tuyên truyền để người lao động nhận thức về kỹ năng lao động là việc làm cần thiết.
